迫りくる二度目の“成人式”を目前に控えたアラフォー独女。

沼津城の本丸跡が中央公園になっている
沼津は、五万石の城下町として栄えた場所。
沼津城は明治時代になくなってしまったけど、本丸跡が中央公園として残っている。沼津駅からも近い場所だ。
といってもそんなに大きくはなく。
ランチタイムにお弁当もって食べに行くのにいい感じの、街中の公園。
歴史解説のボードがあった。
そんなに大きくないと書かれていた沼津城だが、この地図を見ると、沼津市街のにぎやかな部分をほとんど覆っていて結構広く感じる。
今回、出発前に始めて古地図の本など読んで、
江戸時代と今の地図を重ね合わせてみるなどしてみたけど結構面白い。
ああ、ここがもともとお堀になっていたから今でも・・・とか。
いつも歩いていた道が違って見える楽しさ。
この碑は、発掘された沼津城の石垣か何かの石を使っているとのこと。
城の建物は、明治時代になってから兵学校に使われていた。
その後払い下げられ、姿を消した。
もったいない・・・。
